An impromptu one-off session, it led to the creation of a music, not quite Endgame, not really Shapeshifter either, even with Maureen adding her characteristic echo flute and poetry, it is a bizarre otherworldly offering, venturing to the strangest realms of Mother Gong, and to a mystical avant-garde. "The Crack In The Cosmic Egg" found Maureen improvising ad-lib on the subject of eggs, embryos and zygotes, in a musical suite that is so logical in its development and arrangement that it's almost impossible to believe that it was improvised. On the other hand, "Rites of the Shaman" is more obviously a tone-poem improvisation, with Endgame playing a backing to Maureen's mystical recitation of the mystical Shaman.
