After one incarnation of Shapeshifter dissolved in 2000 and before another rose out of its ashes, band stalwart Dave Johnson returned to the fold to join Maureen and previous member Jim Tetlow for a one-off jam to see what would happen. The recording lay dormant on a couple of 4-track cassettes at four of Jim's addresses before he digitally transferred and mixed them in time for the jam's twentieth anniversary. The cover artwork honours Dave (who passed away in March 2009) with one of his paintings.
